What you need to check
It is a Victorian Government discount on council rates for the home you live in. You need a Pensioner Concession Card. Some Veteran Gold Card holders can also get it (cards given for TPI, War Widow, EDA or POW). For 2026–27 councils show a limit of $272.70 (the state page still shows last year’s limit of $266.00). Pensioners, TPI and War Widow Gold Card holders apply through their local council. EDA and POW Gold Card holders apply to the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing instead, online in the Victorian Concessions and Allowances portal or with a paper form (phone 1800 658 521 for one). You also get $50 off the Fire Services Property Levy on your rates notice. Some councils add their own extra discount.
This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
