What you need to check

The home must be new and worth $750,000 or less. You must move in within 12 months of settlement or the build finishing, and you must live in it for at least 12 months. All applicants must be 18 or over. At least one must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident (New Zealand citizens can also apply). You cannot get it if you or your partner already got the grant, owned a home before 1 July 2000, or lived in a home you owned for 6 months or more. People who left a home because of family violence may be able to get it again. Most people apply through their bank or lender.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
