What you need to check

Sunshine Coast Council gives a rates concession to pensioners who also qualify for the state subsidy. A sole owner gets up to $343 a year on the full pension. On a part pension it is $171.50. Joint owners get up to $268 (maximum pension) or $98 (part pension). You need a Queensland Pensioner Concession Card or a Veteran Gold Card. A Seniors Card does not count. The home must be where you mainly live. Apply by 30 June or 31 December.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
