What you need to check

A bond is money you pay before you move in to a rental. You must be 18 or older. You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or hold a Special Category Visa or Temporary Protection Visa, and have lived in the NT for the last 3 months. Income and savings limits apply. For one person, the limit is $1,114 a week before tax and $5,000 in assets. Rent must be no more than 53% of your income. People in or waiting for public or community housing cannot get it. To apply, fill in the form and take it to your local housing office with proof of income, details of your assets, proof you have lived in the NT for 3 months and photo ID.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
