What you need to check

With a Pensioner Concession Card, you can get up to $250 a year off your council rates and waste charges. If your council also supplies your water or sewerage, you can get $87.50 off each. A Veteran Gold Card marked TPI or EDA also counts. So do some war widows and widowers who get the DVA income support supplement. Check your rates bill first, as you may already get it. You will need your rates account number and your card number.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
