What you need to check
This is for young people aged 15 to 25 who are leaving, or have left, formal care after age 15. You must have been in care for at least 6 months in a row, and have a plan for living on your own. It is up to $1,500, as a lump sum or up to 6 payments. It is paid to your caseworker’s organisation, which buys what you need, like furniture or course costs. You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
