What you need to check
Stamp duty is a tax you pay when you buy a home. At least one buyer must get the Age Pension or a Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Service Pension. A DVA Gold Card also counts. People on the Disability Support Pension aged 50 or over can also qualify. You must sell your old home, and you cannot own any other property. The new home must be in the same names as the old one. A pensioner must live there for at least a year. You can only use this once, and not if you have used the Over 60s Home Bonus. From 1 July 2026 there is no price limit.
This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
