What you need to check

This is for people on low incomes who rent from a private landlord or real estate agent in the ACT and find it hard to pay rent. It is for people at risk of losing their home, or who need short-term help to stay housed. You may get a one-off grant of up to four weeks’ rent, up to $2,500. There is also a $250 crisis payment for essential household costs. Care Inc. runs the fund for the ACT Government. Check the rules and apply on the Care Inc. page linked from the ACT Government page.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
