What you need to check

The Portable Long Service Authority records service for workers in Victorian community services, contract cleaning and security, from 1 July 2019. You can apply for your benefit after 7 years of recognised service. Your employer registers you, and you get a Worker ID by letter or email. Use it to sign in to the worker portal and check your service. If you do not work in the industry for more than 4 years in a row, your registration may become inactive and you may lose your service, so check it. Employers pay for the scheme through a levy.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
