What you need to check
You need a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card. A Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner Concession Card or Gold Card also counts. The TasWater account must be in your name, and you must live at the property. For 2026–27 the discount is up to $249.43: $124.72 off water and $124.72 off sewerage. It only starts from the date TasWater gets your form, so apply early in the financial year. TasWater checks your card with Centrelink or Veterans’ Affairs.
