What you need to check

You must be the main holder of a pension card, Health Care Card, or Veterans’ Affairs White or Gold Card. Members of the Transport Access Scheme can also get it. The discount applies to one car, one motorbike, one trailer and one caravan in your name. It covers the registration fee, the third party insurance (MAIB) premium, and the road safety and fire levies. For example, a 4-cylinder car renewal is $518.01 instead of $642.77. Utes and vans not used for business may also get 40% off motor tax. Once you have it, it stays until your situation changes.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
