What you need to check

You must already be able to get the annual electricity concession. That means holding a concession card such as a Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card. Someone in your home must have a medical condition that gets worse in very hot or cold weather. Examples include multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease. Their doctor must sign a form. From 1 July 2026 it is 55.216 cents a day, or $201.54 a year.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
