What you need to check

This is for homes that get power through the site owner, such as a caravan park or retirement village, not a normal power company (an embedded network). You need your own meter and an itemised power bill from the park or building owner, with your name on it. You cannot already get a power concession from a power company, and you cannot get it if your power is a fixed amount in your rent. The low-income rebate needs a low-income Health Care Card from Centrelink, or a Pensioner Concession Card from Centrelink or Veterans’ Affairs. A Commonwealth Seniors Health Card does not count. There is $202 extra if someone needs heating or cooling for a medical condition, and $51 to $940 extra for a life support machine. The life support part does not need a concession card. A doctor must sign a form for these extras. Apply online or at a Service Tasmania centre, with ID, a recent power bill and a bank statement.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
