What you need to check

Any child under 18 living in Tasmania can use the public dental service. They must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or asylum seeker with Medicare. Most care is billed to Medicare under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (a federal dental scheme for children). If your child cannot use that scheme, or has used it up, there is still no charge. Care includes check-ups, cleaning, fillings and x-rays.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
