What you need to check
A bond refund can go unclaimed if you did not cash the refund cheque or did not give CBS your bank details. Use the CBS Bond Status Search with your bond number, guarantee number or the rental address. If it says unclaimed, you can have the money paid to your bank account, usually in 3 to 5 business days. Bonds unclaimed for more than 15 months can move to the SA Treasury Register of Unclaimed Money, where you can still claim them. Phone 131 882.
