What you need to check

All children and teenagers under 18 can get dental care at SA Dental clinics. Many pay nothing. Care is free for children under 5, or who turn 5 this year. It is also free if your child is on a Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card or School Card, can get the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (a Medicare dental program for families on Family Tax Benefit Part A), is under the guardianship of the Department for Child Protection, or lives with a relative carer who signs a form. Other children pay $55 a year, which covers routine care. Care includes check-ups, cleaning, fillings and emergency care. There is no waitlist for general care.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
