What you need to check

Every high school student at a Queensland state or approved non-state school gets this allowance. So do children registered for home education. At state schools it usually lowers the fees for the school’s resource scheme. If your school has no scheme or you opt out, the school pays you directly. Non-state schools receive the money for their students. The department pays home-schooling parents directly. You do not need to fill in a claim form. Part-time students get part of the amount. The amounts are for 2026.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
