What you need to check

You must live in Queensland. You may get a free permit if you always use a wheelchair, if your walking is severely limited, or if you are legally blind. The condition can be permanent or temporary. An intellectual, psychiatric, cognitive or sensory condition on its own does not count. For a new mobility permit, a doctor or occupational therapist fills in part of form F4814. If you are legally blind, a doctor, optometrist or ophthalmologist fills in form F5280, unless you have a Vision Impairment Travel Pass or a Blind Concession Card. A decision takes about 28 days.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
