What you need to check
Every student from Prep to Year 6 at a Queensland school gets this credit, including special and distance education schools. Home-schooled children also get it, and the department tells parents how to give payment details. At state schools it is not cash. It goes on your child’s school account. You can use it for things like camps, excursions, uniforms and stationery bought through the school. Non-state schools decide how to use it to cut your costs. Unspent money carries over while your child stays at the same state school.
This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
