What you need to check
It covers trains, buses, ferries and light rail. You may get a School Opal card, a school travel pass, or both. Transport for NSW sets the rules on who can get it. Passes update by themselves each new school year. You only apply again for a first pass, or if your name, school or address changes.
This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
