What you need to check
It is for cars and motorbikes registered for private use. It comes off the vehicle tax part of your rego (registration, the yearly fee to drive on the road). If you pay for 6 months, it is $50 for a car or $40 for a motorbike. It applies to rego due from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027. It does not apply to business vehicles, trailers, caravans or vehicles that already get a rego concession.
This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
