What you need to check

This is for homes where someone’s body cannot control its own temperature in very hot or cold weather. You need a concession card from Centrelink or Veterans’ Affairs: a Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card or Veteran Gold Card. The power account must be in your name. A doctor who has treated the person for at least 3 months must sign the form. If your power comes through your building, it is $313.50.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
