What you need to check
You must get Carer Allowance from Centrelink and be the registered operator of the car. The car must weigh between 976 kg and 2,504 kg. If two people are registered for the car, both must get Carer Allowance. It covers one car at a time. Download form 1568, then email it or take it to a Service NSW Centre. You need your Centrelink reference number, the number plate, the car’s VIN and your NSW driver licence number.
This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
