What you need to check
It is for higher education students (like university) who get Youth Allowance, Austudy or ABSTUDY Living Allowance. It is a loan, not a gift, and you can choose whether to take it. You pay it back, plus indexation, once you earn over a set amount. You must apply at least 35 days before your course ends.
