What you need to check

You work with a mentor. They can pay for things like a driver licence, a training course, textbooks or a computer. They can also help with child care costs. You must care for a child under 6, not be in paid work, and live where there is a provider. You usually need Parenting Payment, Carer Payment or Special Benefit. Some parents without a payment can join, such as under-22s, early school leavers or First Nations parents. Joining or leaving does not affect your payment.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
