What you need to check

You must be under 65 on the day you apply. You must live in Australia and be a citizen, permanent resident or Protected Special Category visa holder. You must have a permanent disability that greatly reduces what you can do. Children under 6 with developmental delay may also qualify. You need evidence from a health professional. To start, call 1800 800 110 or find an NDIS partner. Then complete an access request form and send it in. The NDIA says it will decide within 90 days once it has everything.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
