What you need to check

Veterans can get this Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) payment from age 60, or earlier if they can no longer work at all. You need “qualifying service”, which usually means you served in a war or on certain operations. You must also meet residence rules. Partners, separated partners and widows or widowers of these veterans can also apply, and some need to reach a set age. Your income and assets change how much you get. These rates include the pension supplement and apply from 20 September 2026. You also get a Pensioner Concession Card. Apply in MyService (through myGov), or call 1800 VETERAN (1800 838 372). DVA first checks that the service counts.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
