What you need to check
This card gives cheaper medicines ($7.70 a script) and may give discounts on bills, rates, transport and health care. Through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), veterans with qualifying service can get it from age 60. War widows and widowers, and people on the Wholly Dependent Partner Payment, can also get it from 60. Partners or widowed partners of veterans with qualifying service can get it from Age Pension age. You must not get the Service Pension, Income Support Supplement or Age Pension from DVA, or a pension or benefit from Centrelink. You cannot already hold a Pensioner Concession Card. Your income must be under $105,048 a year (single) or $168,076 (couple). These limits apply from 20 September 2026. Apply in MyService (through myGov), or with the paper form.
This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
