What you need to check
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) pays for treatment of all mental health conditions for anyone who served at least one day of continuous full-time service in the ADF. This includes reservists who did full-time service, disaster relief or border protection, or were in a serious training accident. You do not have to prove that your service caused the condition. You get a Veteran Card - Specific Conditions (often called the White Card). Doctors, psychologists and hospitals that accept the card treat you for free. Medicines cost $7.70 each until you reach the safety net. Apply in MyService (through myGov), or call 1800 VETERAN (1800 838 372).
