What you need to check
Your child must be 13 or younger and not yet in high school (some exceptions apply). The care must be from an approved service, and you must pay the fees. Families earning $88,520 or less get 90% of fees, up to an hourly cap. The rate goes down as income goes up. From 5 January 2026, every eligible family gets at least 72 hours of subsidised care per child each fortnight. Your child must meet immunisation rules.
This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
