What you need to check
You must give daily care to someone with a disability, a medical condition or who is frail aged, in their home or yours. They must need care for at least 12 months, or have a terminal condition. Residence rules apply. You and your partner must earn less than $250,000 a year together. There is no assets test. The rate is the same for everyone and is not taxed. If you share the care with another carer, you may each get part of it. The rate changes on 1 January each year. We do not ask about anyone’s health in the finder.
This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
