What you need to check
This helps families whose child studies by distance education, boards away from home, or lives in a second home to go to school. The child must be isolated from a suitable school by distance, or have a special education need, or have no reasonable access to a school. In 2026 the most you can get is $13,582 a year for boarding, $5,278 a year for distance education, or $307.46 a fortnight for a second home. Only the extra boarding amount has an income test.
This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
