What you need to check
You must already be able to get Child Care Subsidy. You also need to fit one of these 4 types. Grandparent: you or your partner get an income support payment, and you have 65% or more of the care of your grandchild. Transition to work: you get certain Centrelink payments, your family income is $88,520 or less, and you are moving into work, study or training. Hardship: something in the last 6 months, like losing your job, has made it hard to pay child care fees. Child wellbeing: your child is at risk of harm, and your child care service applies for you. The grandparent, hardship and child wellbeing types pay up to the full fee, or up to 120% of the hourly cap if the fee is higher, for up to 100 hours a fortnight. Hardship help lasts up to 13 weeks at a time. Transition to work pays 95%, and the hours depend on what you are doing.
This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
