## What you need to check

Businesses send the State Revenue Office money of $20 or more they could not pay for 12 months, such as wages, share dividends, rent and bonds, interest and sale money. All gaming and lottery prizes are sent, whatever the amount. Search the Victorian Unclaimed Money Register by name. If you find money, click the claim button and fill in the form. Print and sign it, then email or post it with proof of identity and proof of your link to the money. Executors and next of kin can claim for someone who has died. Most claims take about 4 weeks. Claims of $10,000 or more need original or certified documents. Lottery prizes need the original ticket.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
