## What you need to check

You get 30% off your council rates, up to a yearly limit. In 2026–27 the limit is $401 if you are a TasWater customer, or $591 if not. You need a Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card (from Centrelink or Veterans’ Affairs). A Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card marked TPI or War Widow also counts. A Commonwealth Seniors Health Card alone does not count. Your card must be issued on or before 1 July 2026. It is only for the home where you usually live. You can also claim for last year (2025–26) if you apply by 31 March 2027.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
