## What you need to check

You must be eligible for Family Tax Benefit Part A and care for a baby or a child who recently came into your care. You cannot get this and Parental Leave Pay for the same child. The upfront payment is $708. The supplement is paid with Family Tax Benefit for up to 13 weeks. The amount depends on family income and how many children you have.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
