# Mobility Allowance

A fortnightly payment for people with disability who cannot use public transport and travel for work, study or job searching.

## What you need to check

It is for people who cannot use public transport because of a disability, illness or injury. You must be 16 or older and meet the residence rules. You must need that help for at least 12 months. You must also travel from home for paid work, voluntary work, training or to look for work. The standard rate needs at least 32 hours every 4 weeks of that activity. The higher rate is for some people on payments such as DSP or JobSeeker who work or look for 15 or more hours a week. You cannot get it if you have an NDIS plan. Apply online through myGov, or call 132 717. You need a doctor’s report.
