## What you need to check

For ACT families with a child at school full-time, from preschool to Year 12. Registered home education and some CIT courses also count. You must be the person who pays for the child. You need proof of low income, usually a Health Care Card or Centrelink card that lists the child. Other proof of money stress is also accepted. It is $400 for preschool, $500 for primary school and $750 for high school and college. Use it for things like uniforms, excursions, sport and music. Apply online. Payment can take up to 6 weeks.

This is a short summary. Other rules may apply, like income or where you live. Check the full rules with the agency that runs it.
